Ben Quilty

By Lisa Slade

Ben Quilty is one of the most exciting and outrageous artists in Australia. This exhibition catalogue, released in conjunction with Quilty’s retrospective at the University of Queensland Art Museum, reveals the artist's work at its very best.
Quilty’s unique oil works are identifiable by striking images of budgerigars, skulls, toranas and himself, amongst other things. His work is both whimsical and confronting. It is fresh though paying homage to artists such as Freud, Auerdach and Kossoff.

This catalogue includes essays by Lisa Slade, Jacqueline Millner, Don Walker and Clare Lewis. 144 pages paperback colour illustrations,
